That's a real gem. My sentiments exactly.

I have a fridge magnet which says:

Housework won't kill you - but why take a chance?

Yet another excuse for me to avoid doing the stuff that bores me stupid

Hey boots! Long time no see!

Totally relate to Piles of Stuff Everywhere.

One good thing is that Noggin's sister and brother-in-law are visiting next week. So this has made us do stuff we might never do otherwise, like dust the cobwebs out the corners of the ceiling . . .

We also have a group of students who come here on Friday afternoons for a class, and since that class is a bit longer than usual I'm always aware that one of them MIGHT WANT TO USE THE BATHROOM so this also helps us get the bathroom sparkly clean, just in case.

The other day we decided to wash down the tiled walls in the kitchen . . . um . . . imagine our shame when we saw how GREY the unwashed tiles ended up being.

Thing is, I'm not any sort of slob, nor anyone who likes to live in nasty places . . . it's just weird to realise sometimes how dusty and unkempt one's home might look to visitors.

So perhaps it's best to never have visitors?

never - ever - does that make sense or do the words contradict each other?

It's not that I *want* to live in a grotty house - more that I've just given up.
There are three people living here, only one of whom seems to notice what needs doing - and I can always find something more pressing or interesting to do.
It would be nice to live in a clean, tidy house - I just don't want to be the person who renders it thus.

Perhaps I should take on another day's work and then pay someone else to do the stuff I don't want to do. Is that immoral?
