Hello People
I am sat here in a wonderful and stimulating staff meeting at work that I was not even intending to be in! 
Here I was, minding my own business when the workforce descended and sat around me.
Oh what a gay day.

does "Gay" in "gay day" mean "happy" or "gay" as in "stupid"?
i never use "gay" for "happy".

Over here, Gay can mean mainly one of two things.
Gay as in happy
OR Gay as in Homosexual.
Gay Day is a Happy day.
A homosexual day might be interesting, but not very British
