The trek thing was a little bit of a let down I am afraid.
It was good but was not very extensive.
I did not buy anything as I saw it all as a total rip off.
You paid to get in, fair enough. (£15)too much))
They wanted £2 to take your coat
They wanted £3 for an audio thing to commentate the event
They wanted £8 for a photo in the transporter
They wanted £20 to allow you to star in a video with the original crew (very bad quality)
And the souvineers and stuff were way overpriced.
A jacket with Star Trek the experience on it in tiny letters was £89.99.
And they wanted £15 for a tribble!
I am glad I went, but would no go again.
Amanda out,

i had to look it up. so, i guess 1 pound [i can't even make that sign ] is about $1.50?
so, 8 pounds for a photo in the transporter? did you get to say "Energize." ? or did they charge extra for that, too?
"And they wanted £15 for a tribble!"
PLEASE, TELL ME YOU GOT A TRIBBLE!
15 pounds...lemme see... that's about $22.50? what a bargain!
well, i suppose that one could easily just collect a few laundry loads' worth of dryer fuzz and squish it all together to make a cute little gray tribble

Amanda Posted Jan 22, 2003
Sorry.
At the moment I think £1 is about $1.7
I did not buy a tribble no.
They had a giant one, it was taller than me.
It was not for sale though.

a tribble taller than you?
how tall ARE you?
that's preposterous
so, are you gonna make a lint/laundry fuzz tribble?
today sucks for me
btw, i rented First Contact to watch it again. pretty cool

I am 5feet 8in. (approx).
It was a jolly big tribble.
I have started to make a laundry fizz tribble but there was not much available so I have used some belly button fluff as well.
It is not very large yet, but give me a few more hours and I will see what i can do.
First Contact rocked.

5'8". that's tall. that tribble must've been scary big.
what would even possess someone to make such a large tribble
your lint/fuzz/fluff tribble thing was cute
how 'about a mold tribble? , huh.
btw, my dear [and insanely smart] friend, susY just watched Signs and noted something absurd beyond belief about it. something i had overlooked. here it is:
1. WATER IS EXTREMELY TOXIC TO THOSE ALIENS .
2. THOSE ALIENS ARE HARVESTING HUMANS, WHO ARE BAGS OF WATER [>60% WATER BY WEIGHT].
SUSY AND I INDEPENDENTLY CAME UP WITH THE ONLY RESOLUTION TO THIS. THE ALIENS MUST FIRST DESSICATE US TO 0% WATER AND THEN EAT US AS "JERKY" OR SPRINKLE US OVER SALAD OR SOMETHING, LIKE THOSE BACON SPRINKLES.
OH, SUSY ALSO ASTUTELY POINTED OUT THAT THESE ALIENS SHOULD BE WEARING SOME KIND OF A WATER RESISTANT BODY SUIT. I'M THINKING AT LEAST A RAINCOAT OR SOMETHING.
I HAD NOTED SOMETIHNG LESS PREPOSTEROUS, WHICH IS:
1. WATER IS EXTREMELY TOXIC TO THOSE ALIENS.
2. THE LAWS OF THIS UNIVERSE ARE SUCH THAT LIQUID WATER IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF *ANY* KIND OF LIFE.
THE ONLY WAY AROUND THIS IS TO SAY THAT THESE ALIENS MUST HAVE COME FROM A DIFFERENT UNIVERSE WITH DIFFERENT PHYSICAL LAWS.
whoever wrote the script was brain dead.
F**k.
PeteY out!
why today sucked
%- | ? Posted Jan 23, 2003
i haven't slept much for the past couple of days
so, i'm crabby and i can't think or talk straight
interestingly, i had a couple hours of a slightly elevated hedonism. not sure why. where did this little dopamine surge come from
anyways, that's long gone and i'm all now.
poor peteY
ps: you're not really making a tribble, are you?

They were also breathing were they not?
Are they not going to have to inhale H2O at some stage in the visit to earth?
Their universe must be very different.
They exist in a different state to us.
OR, they mutated and developed an alergy to water.
Hey, do I sound a little more intelligent now?
Take care Amanda out.

Amanda,
very good stuff!
i wonder if your mania has allowed you rise up from your baseline state of "semi-intelligence"
i thought about the water in the atmosphere thing, but i explained that one away by assuming they have filters around their mouths that keep water out.
btw, have you heard of s1m0ne? i just watched it 2 days ago. it's pretty funny. i liked it even though it's supposed to suck.
how big is your tribble now?
oh, i flamed Gaffer for ya!

Amanda Posted Jan 23, 2003
My tribble is about the size of a small quantum fillament at the moment.
Thanks for putting Gaffer in his place for me. He has apologised
I assume Gaffer is a guy.
s1m0ne is what exactly? never heard of it.
I am not sooo manic now. I just been to a First aid training course. Calmed me down a little.
I am still in an uncharacteristically good mood though. Bloody hell, thats a long word for me.
Amanda signing off.

i noticed his apology
PeteY had to stick up for Amanda
esp since what you wrote wasn't retarded.
and, i've had that pencil thing done to me before. OUCH!
i assume he is a guy, too, b/c he's too rude to be a woman
i love that term "bloody hell"... i'm not used to British slang...daft, naff, chuffed
s1m0ne is a movie that just came out on video about a movie director [al pacino] who's lead actress walked out on him. he can't find a replacement, so uses a computer generated woman.
she's a hit and nobody ever realizes that she's not real
it's a comedy. i digged it, totally

mm. sounds interesting.
Bloody Hell is more like an obsenity really. But not a nasty one.
I say Naff, not chuffed though. Oh and daft, yeah I say that.
