This is my first attempt at entering something for the guide, so I thought I would choose a topic which is very dear to my heart and help to spread the knowledge I have of this wonderful, wonderful thing.
Criticism/suggestions would be very much appreciated!

For a first entry this is very good. Interesting, informative and not too long. Never knew about the chromosome thing before. It would be interesting to know the chromosome disparity between other species like lions and tigers for instance.

Nice Entry.
You've used the first person a few times in the Entry, which you're not strictly supposed to do. Don't worry though, as it's easily fixable

Ah yes, thanks for pointing this out (I have now rectified the situation!) Perhaps my own enthusiasm for the creature made me a little carried away

Ok I've just done some quick googling and I've not found any pictures of Zeedonks on googles image search or on colcester zoo's website!
but I did find this news story about a cross between a shetland pony and a zebra, a Zorse.

Thanks, I've now added this link and also one other which has a number of pictures of cross breed creatures, such as ligers and wholpins and, yes, even a zeedonk!!

I liked this article. Just the right tone for the EG. However, when you talk about similar hybrids, you've forgotten the most obvious one: a mule! Have a look at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/2290491.stm for some remarkable news.

Ah yes, mules!! They have been duly included. That reminds me of the end to 'Foundation and Empire' in Asimov's classic foundation trilogy which I still regard as one of my favourite ends to any book ever.

Very good! Well done!
You might like to do a general entry on inter-species breeding, either as well as or instead of, this one. You don't have to, but you seem to interested in that sort of thing.

It's a very sad ending. Rather like the end of the Empire Strikes Back, although rather less 'disarming'...

Ah yes, cheers for that. Now I wonder if anyone's written anything else on wholphins...

“Wholphins”
I assume that refers to whales and dolphins. Having some knowledge of the mating habits of whales it would be interesting to learn how they managed to achieve it.
There is some evidence of dolphins attempting to mate with humans. Now that would be an interesting comparison.

Boggles the mind to think! Still, it'd be a cheap date, where my opposite could be impressed with some free fish and a bouncy ball.

I don't beleive the dolphins are actually trying to mate with Humans, they are just extending the finger of friendship.
Apparently, they are easily excited and a bit of frottage never harmed anyone did it?

Hello
To frantically drag the conversation away from certain aspects of human dolphin interaction that aren't covered by David Attenborough (on camera at least), and back to the topic. I just thought I'd mention I have recommended this.

It's fairly common in fish, of course - Guppy/Molly, Platy/Swordtail etc - and the carps. They use hybrid male (therefore sterile) grass carp to control weed growth without them getting out of control. Odd things happen in ducks, too. Nice entry.
