York here I come!
Elentari Started conversation Oct 6, 2005
I probably won't be on too much over the next few days as I go to York on Sunday! And who knows how long it'll take me to set up the internet connection on my laptop.
Stay tuned for exciting tales of freshers week!

Best of luck - I'm sure you'll make some great friends really quickly and will be having a ball from the beginning.

Having fun so far, more details later.
Took ages to get internet working though! Have to catch up tomorrow, I'm being antisocial!

Bar crawl tonight! (Not that I actually drink any of those)
Anyway, I've met some great people and have done most of the important things like registration, induction meetings and joining the health centre.
Still need to explore campus and York though.
I have a pile of reading to do, so I'd better go...

It's tradition, E - you *have* to get lashed on your Freshers bar crawl! Well, I would have done if I was 20 years younger...
Have a great time, and don't let yourself be pressured into adding anything to your lemonade if you don't want it.
Glad you're settling in - and good luck with the reading...

Thanks! It was a good night.
The reading is for one of my modules Brotherhood: An Aspect of Late Medieval Culture and so far the reading has been sociology based about gender identity and so on. It was very hard to understand, I'm a historian after all! Not sure I understood most of it.
Oh well!
I joined the Atletic Union, I'm going to play badminton and go to fencing!
Tomorrow night is Fresh, the big bash at the climax to freshers week, held at York racecourse. We get Bodyrockers, Radio 1 dj Scott Mills, and Bradley McIntosh (ex-S-Club) as well as some Jazz bands and so on. Should be fun!

Sorry, I seem to have an obssession with using elipses today...

Check this out, what a small world: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/F98830?thread=1197894 Fresh, the main event of fresher's week (have I said this already?) was fun but we had to wait more than an hour for the coach to take us back, and it was spitting and cold! :( A good night though. Today I went into town and had a look around - the minster is

Managed my pasta ok! I'm currently full of a very large Sunday lunch, (which I didn't cook myself, I'm afraid) and I'm going to a comedy show tonight on campus, the last event of Fresher's Week!
I picked up loads of freebies from Fresher's Fayre and I've joined the Amnesty International Society, Fencing and Badminton.
And it's my birthday tomorrow, so me and my new friend are going to have a kitchen party or something. They bought me a ! I wasn't meant to see t, but never mind. Isn't that sweet? I've only known them a week!

Oh yes, and I've now finished my impossible reading and am taking a break before I start writing notes on it.

All done with the hard stuff, work is easier now!
It's half eight on a Friday night, but I don't feel like going out, what can we do instead?

I helped plant a hedgerow today as a conservation project, and it didn't rain - it rained yesterday, it rained this mornig, but not this afternoon!

Hey, that's great!
I think gardening's great, but I doubt I'd enjoy planting a hedge knee deep in mud much.
It was raining here earlier, now it's getting dark. At 6pm. Winter will be upon us before before we know it.

England, so I guess the rain doesn't mean much but it is getting colder. Why?
