J G Ballard dies, aged 78, from Cancer..
Author of The Empire of the Sun, that was made into a movie in 1987, by Steven Spielberg to critical acclaim and nominated for 6 oscars, and Crash, released in 1996, and a film starring James Spader and Deborah Kara Unger. It created a great deal of criticism, with some calling for it to be banned. Do not confuse it with Crash, directed by Paul Harris and released in 2004 and winner of three oscars.

His use of smegma as an erotic substance in Crash (novel) strangely was my strongest recollection when I head.

As I recall the main character went on about smegma a lot when talking about the sex.

This is: I'm new. What Do I Do Now?
I can't see any question, or any newbie, so I'm a tad confused.

Ah. I see.
You'll have to ask MMF about how that happened.

MMF has a habit of starting conversations in strange places. One of the meet voting threads is on a page of the h2g2 FAQ.
