From what I read, I'm assuming they want on-going help, just getting to grips with the language etc, not any specific help maybe.
More like a talk about anything, just so they can get more use out of the language rather than know anything specific.
A conversation or two?

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie.
I've just been following many of the links shared by a (my?!) kindly Ace (thanks!) and was somewhat surprised to read the "English only" rule. I do understand the intent: a common language serves everyone, yet I am uneasy with the hegemonic potential (I hesitate to allow English that hierarchical rank already, even though the trend is obvious).
Can "life, the universe, and everything" only be understood through one linguistic code? I believe not (alas). Is there a remedy? Certainly not one I'm prepared to offer, my own linguistic range is limited to two languages and my programming skills are zilch. Yet this whole business of communicating with each other about the world we live in does seem to scream for more diversified lenses rather than less.
sigh. I encourage Alinda25 to simply "keep talking" (as in, writing and reading) - your English will improve with use. You may have to resort to dictionaries if you get stuck, or ask for clarification. I'm impressed with the explanatory powers of folk here in h2g2 (you all did a terrific job with Rillington, THAT was painful to wade through) and appreciate the mix of random silliness and genuine desire to make our world more livable for more people.
