I had no idea how beautiful one could be!
I am sure I have seen one before , or near total.
Never one so spectacular.

It was a red ball.
For a short while a bright light of a plate was beneath the massive red apple vision. As if Mars was exremely close.

A pefectly clear sky opened up a few monutes before and the 2 hour show was well worth getting up for. I am glad I did.

Next September there is one.
I do not know if the redish orange color is always present to some degree.smiley - cool

The orange colour is always there during a Lunar eclipse...smiley - smiley The reason for this is that the light from the sun passes the earth in a straight line, outwards into space, except for the red spectrum, which "bends" around the earth's circumference, and reaches the moon, therefore giving it an orange appearance. smiley - magic

Enough technical talk though, it's enough to know it is a beautiful sight to behold...smiley - biggrin

smiley - cheers

Stephen
