President Bush & his team say they are far ahead of the Democrats, even though the public has concerns for his economics & and his empathy for ordinary people, according to a new poll. When Democrats and those who lean Democratic were asked who they preferred to be their nominee, 29 percent said Lieberman, 19 percent chose Gephardt and 14 percent picked Kerry.

During a Debate with Moderator George Stephanopoulos:

Howard Dean's; "Saddam really wasn't much of a threat to the country."

Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut:
"Saddam Hussein was a threat to the U S.
We did the right thing in fighting this fight, and the American people will be safer as a result of it."

Al Sharpton: "We could have disarmed Hussein by working with the United Nations."

Sharpton & Carol Moseley Braun (former Illinois senator) focused on the expense of keeping U.S. forces in Iraq and the reconstruction of the war-torn nation.

Health Issue:
Gephardt's health insurance proposal: the cornerstone of his campaign that would require businesses to provide health care for their employees at a cost of more than $200 billion a year. The plan would repeal all of Bush's 2001 tax cut.
smiley - starCorp. already give health insurance as a benefit!smiley - cross

Gephart"I think if we're going to win this election, we cannot be Bush-liteThey are not making the economy better, they are not helping people get jobs, they're not covering anybody with health insurance.''

Lieberman :
Sates he is unwilling to raise taxes to pay for health coverage.
``No Democrat will be elected president in 2004 who is not strong on defense, and this war was a test of that strength,''

Sen. John Edwards( North Carolina)
He was negative about a plan leaving the decisions to "big corporate America and assume that they do the right thing. That sounds like Reaganomics to me."

Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich (previous mayor of Cleveland)
" cut the waste, the fat, the bloat out of the military.''

The moderator also asked about their downfalls:

Kerry; Asked about his aloofness
Graham; Asked about his lack of charisma,
Edwards; Asked about his lack of policy experience
Sharpton; Asked if he's a racial polarizer
Gephardt; Asked Have you been around the track too many times?
Lieberman; Asked Is he's too nice to take on Bush?

smiley - discoEnron & other Corp. whom hands were slapped, wants a tax refund for all their taxes they paid on inflated income!smiley - grr They should pay the people back before the gov pays them back.

smiley - discoPresident Bush made a prime time speech on an aircraft carrier. Instead of a helicopter for the 30 mile ride out to sea, he sat in the co-pilots seat of fet fighter & flew it in. Looking very spiffy in his flight suit and swagger(his body language coach beaming I'm sure)I am sure this expensive show will be in his campaign bid for re-election.

RAF Wing... Lookee I'm Invisible!!

This is a different field of candidates, NOT!!!

Does anybody else get the impression that the entire puppet show has been orchestrated to give the American people the false impression of having a choice?

I thought Bush on an aircraft carrier indicates what a pathetic coward he really is. Talk about preaching to the choir!!! And did you notice how white all those boys in dungerees were? Makes your little heart long for the fabulous 50s doesn't it?

Jimmy Stewart probably looked better in a leather flight jacket because he actually wore one once upon a time. Bush looks better in a preppy three piece with whiskey stains on the tie same as Reagan or his George's dad for that matter.

So Fatboy asked me if I didn't admire the efficiency of the recent operations.

I asked what the mission objectives were wanting to judge the efficiency in as cold and objective a light as possible.

He replied predictably that the objectives were to remove Saddam and disarm him of weapons of mass destruction.

I asked where Saddam was and all those weapons of mass destruction?

He, like Bush, replied that they would be found.

I expressed the hope that they wouldn't take too long fabricate, although, given the foolishness of the American people or at least their politicians' estimation of their foolishness, it probably didn't matter.

Fatboy isn't speaking to me now. Oh my!!!

He really takes this stuff personally too, like a true vet. Vicarious glory for the morally impaired. Lovely, isn't it?

*still waiting for Saddam & WMD*

Even more of a humanitarian concern would be good at this point. Did they ever make it to the small village 30 miles from Bahgdad? They needed "humanitarian help desperately" last week. They had seen 2 miltary vehicles the whole time. No trucks to help the starving theresmiley - ermno WMD, maybe the big *S* is hiding there!smiley - doh
