h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

My piece on the History of Aston Martin is in prime position on the FP. I'm really proud of this piece for a number of reasons

a) I'm a girl and girls aren't supposed to be petrolheads and write EG's about cars
b) I love Aston Martin's and drool over the DB5 and DBS in Casino Royale more than I do Daniel Craig
c) I used to live near to where the old factories were in Feltham and Hanworth Park.

I knew someone was going to pick that up, when I said gadgets I meant the typical 'Bond' gadgets like rocket launcher, ejector seats and oil slicks. Personally I wouldn't class a gun rack and a defibrillator as gadgets, but that's just me.

And yes he did call it a 'Vesper' in the film as well as the book

I'm not suprised because this touches on so many different levels, movies, books, cars, technology, and the fact that it was written by a female as you said in the journal entry proves that it would make it through PR pretty quickly. And yeah I remember he called it Vesper now, I couldn't remember... its not my fault its like early in the morning and i have been up for the past 3 days xD

There were only about 3 people who commented on it, maybe I'm getting better at putting all the full stops in the right places and running it through a spellchecker than I was, even the usual suspects never bothered coming in to berate me for daring to show my face in PR

I usually find that the usual suspects find your weakness and keep poking you with it until you explode

I can't relate to your last remark, was that in PR? Whereever, I guess it happens all the tme and to everybody.

Yes B'El he's dead and has been for nearly 20 years. My dad met him once, very briefly.

It doesn't really matter Prof, the film does follow the book fairly faithfully, there are a few added bits in the film and the story has obviously been up for the film, SMERSH turns into terrorists, Baccarat becomes Texas Hold 'em Poker, Bond is give £15,000,000 instead of £25,000 to bet with, but the essence of the story is basically the same, no Q or Moneypenny tho
