Stealth "Jack" Azathoth

I'm communicating from my little hut in Haywards. Being metered by the minute at the moment. Should be hooked up to unlimited 2Mb broadband by this time next week - unless I just it...smiley - erm

Feck! I hate this iMac, though I'm hoping the broadband will make me warm to it and that I'll get use to the OS in time, but right now it frustrates me, it seems to lack the flexibility of a PC and the 20" screen isn't worth the extra money I paid, should have gotten a 17" with built-in iSight.
Fool!smiley - wah

This 56Kb modem is equally as slow as the 28Kb one at my mums, or at least appears to be, I'm hoping that doesn't mean it's phone-line or something that will affect the broadband...

That site I linked to a while back about co-dependency had vanished last time I looked, which is inconvenient because I wanted to print it off and go though the list of 232 trait in a CBT session... smiley - erm forgotten the where and why of mentioning that.

Well, I'm wasting time & money talking to the likes of you lot.

Hope the broadband helps. I hate my iMac too, because it was very cheap and it's very slow. I should have paid a little bit extra.

I've got GHz PowerPC G5 and for the time being 512 MB DDR SDRAM and 667 MHz bus speed and this Mac wasn't cheap including the warranty it was 936.99 quid! But, because I want everything to happen instantaneously; it can feel slow! That I expect says more about than the machine.smiley - biggrin

The B-band is advertised as upto 2Mb/ps just how fast it will be in practice I don't know yet, I went with Toucan because it was unlimited usage and at £16.99 a month is reasonably priced by UK standards. There are ISPs that charge slightly less but they aren't compatible with the iMac or aren't unlimited and I wanted the flexibility to use 6Gb one month and just 600Mb the next, and who knows how much the month after that. I'll be surprised if I use as much as 20Gb, but I've 250GB to try and fill-upsmiley - winkeye

I started out with only 300MB a month allowancesmiley - laugh, then moved to a 5/5 plan now we rarely turn the comp off, my allowance is set at 10GB peak (8am - midnight) and 10GB offpeak (midnight - 8am), for this I pay $50 a month (about 21pounds), I can use as much or as little, if I go over my allowance I an slowed to 64Kbps, the speed I have is as fast as you can get in regional australia, some of the cities have exchanges that allow up 24000MB/pssmiley - wow

2meg is the fastest in my area - leafy Sussex. 4Meg is still consider pretty damn fast in most places in the UK, the next goal for the industry is 15meg. I think it's gonna be a long time before we catch up to those parts of the world where wireless sending of Gbps isn't considered as fantastic as Scotty's transporter room.

That list seems similar to the one that has disappeared. (I am disappointed about that too)
