h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Went there.
Met lovely people.
Drank with lovely people.
Became inebriated with said people.
Had a good time.
Left with bunch of 'newts'.
Got home eventually!

I'm there now.
Missed the party.
Everyone's gone home.

I'm glad to have met new lovely people, and 'old' ones too.
Some lovely chocolates are waiting for a nice Saturday night.

I didn't have time yesterday to write a better account of the evening, now I'm struggling to remember any specifics at all.

I know recently I've had trouble thinking clearly, been, getting confused easily. And I got intoxicated alot more quickly than is usual for on the night. Normally I remember nights of drinking just as well [or badly] as sobre nights but not this time.

Shame not to clearly recall the night, one of the best hootoo meets I've been too for some while.

I do remember that I barely recognised Milla because she looked less strained, younger and more beautiful than before...

Ohh, so did you! Perhaps because this time I actually recognised a lot of faces? Or because my hair is growing uncropped since a year? (OK, a little trimming at the edges then)

Having a foreign moment again... What is meant with newts? Surely not the little water lizards that I picture?

I didn't get the newt thing either. Was it a reference to extreme drunkenness, perhaps?

Guess so... as in 'drunk as a newt' no idea where hte expression comes from.... probably a play on as 'drunk as a fish' not enough smilies!

I thought the saying was, "drinks like a fish," but "drunk as a newt / lord / skunk."
