Incidentally, there's a fantastic black&white photo of people playing Bat and Trap in the 1950's here:

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Pointy112, I've now finished subbing your Entry. I've changed "sinister" to "left-handed" and removed all the W*k* links, replacing them with suitable H2G2 Edited Entry links, with the exception of Stoolball, which I found an appropriate link for at BBC Sport.

I'm returning it now to the Editors to join the queue for the Front Page. You can watch the progress of your article at ComingUp You will receive an email from the H2G2 Editors the day the Entry goes live.

Hi Galaxy Babe,

The thing controls the word-wrapping around the images. It forces a hard-return after the text for each image so the next image appears on a new line rather than flowing.

If that doesn't make sense try removing it and see what happens to the images. smiley - smiley

Your other edits are fine too. I'm not sure why there's so much wikiphobia around here, but I'll go with it for now...

Cheers,

M

I did remove it, and I've had a little play with the images, but then, the Eds may do their own thing during the final polish after it leaves my hands, so it's not set in stone.

I'll return it now thensmiley - ok

Wikiphobia? Nah. I've seen enough Wiki hacked entries to mistrust the whole thing.
