I was listening to Classic FM on the way to work this morning and a piece of music came on that I know very well.
I just can't remember the name of it!!! I know the composer begins with a V, I just can't remember the name
Lets see if anyone can get the piece of music from my attempt below.
*ahem*

The above has to be done very fast and sticcato too to get it right. It's also performed by violins.
I know this has been on an advert too.

You're welcome!
Great piece of music - Everybody of a certain age went out and bought Nigel Kennedy's version in the 80s. I've got the VHS tape of the concert somewhere - the orchestra all wear sunglasses during the Summer section.

I love most pieces of classica music, especially ones that are full of emotion.
There is one by Barber that makes me cry though.

Yes, they played that Barber piece at the Last Night of the Proms which came a few days after 9/11.
One of my favourite, moving pieces is Vaughan Williams: Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis.

Yes. That's the piece.
I shall listen out for that other one.
Oh btw...Classic FM are offering 50 free downloads of your favourite pieces of music during October. I'm going to download them tonight as my computer at work won't let me download.

there is very intresting version of the "four seasons" it is by Thomas Wilbrandt, a student of Von Karajan. it is double cd called "electric V". it is combination of orchestra and elzctric instruments. old meets mordern, the cds were the first to be recorded with digital recording equipment for then the new disc called compact disc.

We have a Classic FM station in South Africa too...!
It's broadcasts out of Johannesburg on 102.7 using a tiny 100W transmitter (all the authorities will allow them) and I can only just catch it in Pretoria 60km away.
They also broadcast on digital TV band, but I don't have a decoder...!
