Kudos to Santragenius V (U62867) for finding the first bug in the 20th Anniversary Edition of the Hitchhiker's Adventure Game (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/hitchhikers/game.shtml).
"If you were to register with h2g2, your games would be saved in your personal folder, and we could list them here".
Well, not unless you've said RESTORE first.
That's right folks, I forgot to create the personal folder at SAVE time. What an idiot.
Doubly so, in fact, because Jim spotted it during testing, but it went away
Bugs never, ever, "just go away", and I should know that by now.
Fix coming soon ...

Traveller in Time just found the game (and it was not behind the blinking fish, but instead)

Well - I think I'd be more happy with the feat if I had been looking for a bug...
Sometimes you're the windshield
Some times you're the bug...
Anyway, the workaround works fine

Which saved game would you like to restore?
Decent name for a backup & stupid

How about starting the game from the begin? "

Hi Dot -
Sorry for the delay in replying - I'm on vacation at the moment, and only popping online occasionally.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention - I can confirm that it is a bug, it is reproducible, and that (thankfully) there's also a workaround.
The good news is that all your files are safe, it's just that the Flash client isn't displaying their names. So, if you can remember the names, you can RESTORE them with no problem - even the ones with silly names.
If you can't remember the names, and you're *really* desperate, then there's still a way you can get them, but it's probably easier to wait until Shim & I have released a fix (this bug requires work on both our parts).
Hope that helps!

Thanks, I happen to have made a copy of the names before saving them.
I don't know what you have reproduced but my systemm does not respond to the enter
hold on...
it does! thanks

the enter does work, however I see no replies from the game.
the < has still frozen the replies
i'm stupid, stupid, stupid, shouldn't have played with these names
(nice, a flare of frustration , what a game)
Have a nice vacation, I will die a dozen times, waiting for your return

Hi Dot -
There's an updated version of the game running on the BBC site - hopefully you should now see all your saved games listed!
Cheers,
Sean.
