So if this is really the Hitchhikers Guide to Earth then tell me. Why is it online? Shouldn't there be some electronic version that you could buy and take with you in your pocket? When I read the first book I want this so I bought a wikireader but it's not the same. If this site is what it claims to be then it should have a mobile version. I would buy it. Who wouldn't?

out of the mouths of babes...
pure genius!! i agree wholeheartedly!!
by the way, ryan, we are having some difficulties with the skin that the bbc is defaulting you to when you first register and log on to h2g2...
what happens is that your apostrophes become a weird code thing & # 39 ; without the spaces... which shows up in the other skins but not in the one you are currently in
if you click on this http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/U14957449 it will put you into the brunel skin where what you type will not turn into gibberish to the rest of us
: ) welcome! an ACE will be with you shortly!

Well, we're all researching it and writing it at the moment. You too! Anyone who signs up is known as a Researcher
OK, we've been here since 1999 and we've only written just over 10,000 entries in that time, but hell, we've just been having too good a time!
Make yourself at home, have a Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster or two and enjoy the journey!

I think it is fairly likely we'll produce an iPhone App at some stage.
I just bought a book on how to write iPhone Apps. If nobody else does it, I'll do it myself.

It's certainly in the pipeline, but at the moment we don't know how long the pipe is.
We did used to have a mobile-friendly skin, but it was only ever in beta and, over the years, the BBC forgot about it.
Don't worry, we *certainly* want to introduce this kind of idea, we've just been a bit restricted in our development for the last couple of years.

The "mobile-friendly" skin is still there. It's the "pda" skin:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/pda/home
It was never very friendly, though. It only shows Edited Entries, no conversations, and can't handle lots of things like accented characters, tables or pictures.
