I have had a lot of trouble with h2g2. I cannot peer review articles, or read most conversations. I am getting a ton of broken links on both my blackberry and my laptop. I love this place. Please make it functional so we can load you down with improvements to work on rather than complaints to fix.

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Aug 3, 2011
You may be using the Barlesque front end, which is full of bugs. Try switching to the Brunel front end, which is the easiest to use of the various "skins":

in which case your home page comes out

the character code in the first line is an attempt to translate from barlesque. If you edit in brunel, or plain, or classic that won't happen.

lil ~ Auntie Giggles with added login ~ returned Posted Aug 3, 2011
Those in barlesque can't open any of their conversations or messages, so they cannot see these replies. Which is why I used the URL in Brunel and pasted it into the Subject box.

for some reason the only way I can change skins here is by actually going to the address line and making the change there. just putting in a web address seems to stay in the previous skin.

It's not just a matter of advice. I think I am going to move my comments over to the bug report forum.
When I am in brunel and type an address in plain or classic it it parsed in brunel. the system does not change skins
