A Conversation for Barlesque Feedback

Once upon a time

Once upon a time there was an inspirational Web Site called h2g2. It fell unto hard times and was acquired by the BBC, who had a much larger Web Site and lots of experience in the field of communication. As if by magic the DNA Hub was launched - http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/hub/U24
So many community sites each with a character and identity of it's own :- http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/hub/communities.
Each site could communicate using a community language that was at the heart of h2g2, the site that the BBC had 'acquired'. The languge was named DNA, the initials of Douglas Noel Adams the founder of h2g2. Web pages of sites using the engine were to carry the words 'Powered by DNA the BBC Web site Engine', dna was also used in the URL of each site in recognition of DNA the man, but that's another story.
Unfortunately each site saw the other as opposition, they lived independently and never did integrate to form a living and thriving internet community. The 'engine' was the only link. H2g2 had the original and fully functional version with individual sites having a cut down version created to meet their specific needs.
The sites were never encouraged to communicate with each other so that they could live happily ever after.
The End.

Hi Gnomon. You can wish. smiley - smiley
The salvage team are doing a great job but let's hope that the BBC recognise the gem they have got, do a 'U'turn and find us a place in their online activities. If it has to be in the form of Barlesque then so be it.smiley - ok
We have been with them now for 10 years and caused no trouble. If it's just a case of money then they should spell it out, without doubt they have room to spare within the sites that they operate in DNA mode.
