Front Page
It's a good idea. I'm not sure how successful it is in it's current form - I find it a bit confusing. I wonder what a newbie will make of it. I think the headings and layout need more clarity.
Also not sure about five links to Ask convos being promoted as 'chat'.

Traveller in Time happy with the new content
"Only some problems on [Broken link removed by Moderator] following threads is not usefull.
Using 'Betsy' or 'Lynx' (text only versions of the site) is quite confusing, you really have to know how the links are ordered in the more graphical environments. "

The page that the above links to is horrid. I wouldn't understand it.
I really like the front page but I think there might be a bit too much information. I think I'd order it as the whole of the top being the three new entries, then the next section being divided into one or two old entries, and then Talking Point and one or two other chats in the next section.

Traveller in Time simulating to use The Guide mobile
"It is not the most gracefull view of the frontpage, I must admit.
It is however the same frontpage as you are seeing in < <./>/dna/h2g2/Classic/</.> > or < <./>/dna/h2g2/alabaster/</.> > or < <./>/dna/h2g2/plain/</.> > or < <./>/dna/h2g2/burnel/</.> >.
It happens I use a text only browser on DOS and other low capacity systems and the PDA skin is the latest. (And already forgotten.) "

I would like to add my approval of the new Front Page. It's a major improvement, and exactly what I had in mind for my ideal front page.

Two thumbs up on the new Front Page design. Also happy to see permanent links to the Post and the Underguide. (It was confusing the way they were always coming and going in the past.)

I found the Front Page a bit confusing yesterday, it wasn't clear which were the new Entries, is much clearer today.
I like the 'On This Day in History:' (but according to h2g2 calendar (A3386928) Jack the Ripper is from 8 Sept not 7 Sept) I'd like to see a link for the Calendar on the FP more often.
Looking at this week on the calendar, it was the first week two sci-fi programmes were first shown on TV: Star Trek - 8 sept 1966 and The X Files - 10 Sept 1993 Maybe some sci-fi Edited Entires could be promoted over the weekend.

That big, beautiful owl is a lovely addition. Can we keep it?
The larger FP graphic was a good idea. Adding links to conversations was another great idea.

I just noticed that the second heading on the FP says 'Share and Enjoy'. Excellent. My favourite line in the entire DNA canon.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
