Probably not an issue for us, but for the former hosts it will be using space etc

It looks like all the "place" DNA sites still have a "plain" version.

That's been the case for a long time; all that Place stuff was archived years ago but it was decided to keep them hosted for an undefined period. Nobody knows why it defaults to Plain though!
Side note: I love that Children Entry. It's wonderfully .

Indeed, a good early entry.
Oddly, which is how I discovered it, I was doing my regular (as in every few years) google for a few of my entries to check for rip-offs/cites etc, and a local one came up in the top 3 in google
