It's a bit of an emotional time around Hootoo at the moment, the redesign, the BBC dropping us...
I notice you lot (the "behind the scenes" crew) that keep it all going (bugs excluded!
) have been coming in for a lot of stick, a fair bit of it being uncalled for. You just seem to be the ones in the firing line.
If only in a little way, I'd like to redress the balance a bit.
I'd like to say THANK YOU for all you've done over the years. H2G2 might have ended up a "niche" site, not as popular as others, but it has always felt well put together, reliable, and trustworthy. The community here is like nothing else I've encountered, and through this site I've made a great many friends, several feel as close as family. This wouldn't have happened had it not been for your efforts.
This site has made me laugh, cry, it has educated me, and entertained me, and it would be a real shame if it cannot continue. Whatever happens, though, I'll be keeping in touch with a great bunch of people who've shared a common interest.
I couldn't run something like this. My priority is my family. As such, I am endebted to the people who have kept this site running all these years (I've been logged in 8 years this Saturday!).
No matter what some people might be saying at this point, you *ARE* appreciated. You *HAVE* made a big difference to a lot of people.

Many thanks Moonhogg, your thoughts are much appreciated. Hearing things like that gives us a huge boost. We know how much this site means to people and we're pleased that you've made so many great connections on H2G2 over the years. After all, that's what the site is really about.
