A Conversation for h2g2 Feedback

I have some very enlightening comments to make on the Sixth Day of Christmas, but whenever I try to make them, the "you are not registered" page comes up. Since Twelfth Night is only two days away, I would really like to inform all the other researchers how they are missing the mark on the interpretation of this line.

So, how do I sign onto the conversation?

Another Q--how can I see other researcher's home pages?

Due to the deep blue background, every page on h2g2 takes a lo-o-o-ng time to load on my old PS1, so getting around and following several pages before I get where I want or having to reregister everytime I want to converse is really not my idea of fun.

Waiting anxiously for your reply. Well, maybe not anxiously. But waiting. Sort of.

You need to log in and register once when you come into h2g2. You are then recognised as a Researcher, with a homepage, until you log out. However in order to be recognised, your computer needs to accept cookies, Make sure that your web browser has the 'accept cookies' option turned on. you will then be able to post to the forums. This should work, but we may be able to offer more advice if can you tell me which web browser and version you are using?

To see another Researcher's homepage, click on their name in the threads, and you will go directly to their page.

Hope this helps. Best wishes Peta

I should point out that if you were able to post to *this* forum then you are *already* registered, so why you can't post to the other forum is more of a mystery. Were you replying to a post or starting a new conversation?

That was my point. There're no 'private' or locked forums so posting to one means you can post to them all.

Hi, I'm back!

I did manage to get into the forum I wanted to tonight, so perhaps there was just a time lag between my registration & being able to post to that page. It's sorta a moot point, now that the 12 Days are over anyway.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner to all of you who took the time to reply to me. I have a very slow computer & h2g2, with its blue background, takes a long time to load so I have to wait until I have lots of time to surf.

We are going to be doing some site redesigns within the next few months, people with slower computers can turn off some of the graphics and speed up their connection. So keep coming to h2g2. We hope to make your experience even better in the future.
