I'm just wondering if we could have some feedback from the Italics about the ongoing technical problems. I know there have been individual problems that have been attended to, and in the past the problems tend to stop and we have periods of time relatively problem free. But now it seems that the problems are ongoing and reasonably permanent (or at least recurring). I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling some frustration about this.
I'm not very technical, but I gather that the problems are from various sources. But it does seem that they have become more frequent since the BBC message boards went onto DNA. Can we assume that there will always be server problems now due to the increased traffic?
Any feedback from the Staff about what is going on, and what we can expect in the medium and long term would be appreciated - it's easier to put up with disruptions if we know what's what.
thanks,
kea.

I've been trying to update an entry all morning, and I'm trying to be patient, but it's awfully difficult and frustrating.
My sympathies to everyone else

We're just working on an announcement but we want to get the fullest possible picture first. Once possibly surprising thing is that this does not appear to be connected to the addition of messageboards.

The search engine didn't work for me at all yesterday but I'm glad to see it was back this morning
Thanks for all your hard work, by the way, we do appreciate it even between our complaints.

Pah, we're as frustrated as you guys with it all, but I have to say the tech team have been working long, hard hours trying to find solutions to the problems, identifying causes with amazing speed and being generally brilliant. It's doubly disappointing for them that these problems are so persistent. But just to reassure you, we do know it's happening, people are working on this and we're probably uttering just as many swear words as you guys when things go wrong (my Tardis money box has been appropriated as the team swear box. Annoyingly I seem to be its main contributor - - which I reckon means I should keep all the money).

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this.
I've noticed in the last couple of weeks, that the 'front page' is'nt updating the lastest conversations or entries as they happen. In the last week it has only updated twice. Is there a reason for this? Or have i totally missed any announcement on the subject?
