That's it really My bookmarks bar now has the hootoo icon instead of the generic webpage symbol (classic goo). Wasn't a priority fix I realise, but cheers all the same
Thanks for fixing the H2G2 icon!

Interesting, mine is still blank. I use Firefox, if that makes any difference.
Thanks for fixing the H2G2 icon!

Ah, that's where the bug was!
I was trying to find what was causing repeated errors in the logs, and traced some of them to image calls, but couldn't see what was calling the image to point it to the right place. So, a quick upload later and the bug goes.
Thanks for fixing the H2G2 icon!

Yes - I noticed it too!
Goo in Firefox. Mind you, I don't think I had it in IE at work either, so I'll check that tomorrow.

Glad to be of assistance Pastey, even if it was in the wrong place!

Threads can be moved, don't worry about that
I'm glad I know where that bug was now though. Our 404, page not found page shows up if missing images are asked for, which I didn't know. So it seems that most of our errors (about 98 / 99 %) of them are actually things like the missing icon. Which is good.

Mine's showing now. Maybe it just took a reboot or something.

Oh what a good feeling it is, not just to see the favicon but to know that the bug list just got decimated.

It's still broken on my work computer in Chrome. But that may be because I've bookmarked a Ripley page. Pliny is OK.

*thinks about the standard attempt of fixing weird things - clear cache and ctrl+f5*
*but it's probably been tried already*

Am at work in IE (still, of course, with Goo) and it's not visible here.

Yes - I've cleared the cache.

These days it's not enough simply to clear the cache. You need to contact Google's server farm in California and ask them to power the entire site off at the wall.

Pastey Posted Feb 26, 2013
Browsers handle icon caches in different ways, it'll just take a few days.
