No one erects a statue?

Not true - there is not one, but several statues of the famous Charlie Rivel

Ah, but he's not an "Unknown" clown!
In version 2.0 of this poem, the line probably ought to read "Nobody erects The Tomb of the Unknown Clown". (This poetry business is hard.)

Eh - you mean that both lines in that part of the poem refer to the Unknown ? The line with the statue too?

Ah - and my posting was just made to share a bit of info, it was not made with the intention of pointing out a fault - there is nothing 'right' or 'wrong' in poetry

Maybe I'll just leave well enough alone.
I liked the picture of the clown statues. I don't remember ever seeing such a thing in the USA, although I suppose they exist (probably at the Ringling College, if nowhere else). I don't think we consider clowning an art form in the same way people in other countries do - which is too bad.

Sorry, maybe I should have phrased my first posting differently - it was meant to be a bit tongue-in-cheek-ish!
Art form? Hmmmm... I guess I think of clowns like actors in a theatre - it's a kind of acting, that is intended to provoke some sort of reaction, mostly laughter - and what would the look like without laughter?
