Do you use dial-up or broadband? Can you not change the telephone line and still keep the rest? It is so frustrating when you can't do what you want isn't it?

If you can manage to get online, there may well be people on hootoo, who have the expertise to give you some guidance about how to sort this problem out. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them.

Hi Scorpio, Yes I am on broadband now, in fact it was their modem that caused the problem, the USB connection was bust, but they could not pick that up on their signal test We fitted a "net card" in the end and that by-passed the USB connection. I really missed my internet for those few days, and its surprising just how much we take things like that for granted.

In fact I was given a full months refund (of TV net & phone service) plus £5 extra for the inconvenience caused, their marketing manager was a really nice person and we kept in contact by Email throughout it all. He even gave the "call centre" person a row for their attitude towards me. So all in all it turned out well in the end, thanks for your concern by the way, it was heart warming
