That would be in about 12 days time then
Though seriously, I do hope Graham comes back to make the suggested changes as I _really_ want to see an edited entry about these amazing birds in the Guide

Well, you could always take it on if it ends up in the FM

If anyone wants to pick this and if the ptb send it to me for subbing I'll happily tidy it up and add a few additional facts. It really doesn't need a lot of work - which is why I'm offering Plus, I like wild birds.

I've tried to pick it twice, Bels and TPTB have rejected it both times. What you've said matches what I said in my recommendations and in the first e-mail rejecting my pick, the italic agreed it didn't need much doing to it, but wanted Graham to go through the proper review experience!

Ho hum indeed!
Well I'd be happy to sub it within the next week or so, and discuss the subbing in this thread with all interested parties, but to go through the whole process would involve waiting for it to get into the FM, getting it out of the FM, subbing it, dragging it through PR again, and then getting someone else to sub it again. For an entry that would be 90% someone else's that would be total overkill AFAIAC.
I did it once, with the result that... well let's just say I vowed 'never again'.

I'm out of picks at present. Maybe someone else could pick it and try their luck with the italics, making a note of your comments, Bels!

This is a really nice first entry, Graham, and a Scout has recommended it for the Edited Guide. It'd be good if you could come back to this to make those last few tweaks, however...
If we take Bels up on his kind offer to do some extra subbing on this to get it into shape, would anyone have any objections? If Graham's having problems getting back on the site it'd be a shame to lose such a unique entry to the Flea Market.

I'm puzzled, Jimster. On what grounds could anyone object?
I was just trying to help, but if there's stuff going on that I don't know about, I don't want to know about it, and I don't want to get involved in anything contentious.

I'm often perplexed by the things some people object to, Bels, including generosity. Wasn't referring to anything specific though, so no worries
I'll have a chat with Anna tomorrow and see if we can sort this then. I used to love studying birds of prey when I was a kid (though I'd hold back from claiming to have been a proper ornithologist). With any luck, I'll be able to accept this and send it your way.
Muchly appreciated, Bels. Thanks lots!

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Subbing 'Red Kites'
Bels - an incurable optimist. A1050986 Posted Jul 13, 2003
Hi Graham and everyone
I've received this for subbing and done some prelim work on it at A1105552
Just adjusting it to fit the House Style for the Edited Guide, plus I've added some relevant snippets and factoids.
I'll perhaps leave it for a short while in case anyone has any further comments before I give it the finishing touches.
