Here I am!
I'm at Odo's for a long weekend - found some better things to do.
It's something I had a long chat about in another thread - the dividing line between Pontoon and Blackjack is incredibly blurred by regional variations, and to all intents and purposes it's easier to lump them in together as one game. I'll put in a footnote to that effect, but to avoid confusion I think it should be left at that.
As an analogy, consider 8-ball pool (Entry forthcoming!). You can find any number of assorted interpretations of the 'official' rules in pubs up and down the country, not to mention all the variants that the Americans play.

I know you could never write the definitive guide to every variant of Blackjack/Pontoon. I just didn't like your comment that five-card-trick was only for children's games, when it is in fact used in Casinos in Europe.

If Gnomon's happy with this, then it's ready to go, Sam.

I don't like the way you mention Footnote 6 by number in the text. The numbers on the footnotes are provided automatically. A sub-editor should be able to add a footnote anywhere he or she feels like it without having to change the text.
If you change it to "See the footnote about regional variations" or words to that effect, I'll be happy.

I know what you're saying - I just thought my way sounded catchier. And there is nothing in the guidelines about referring to footnotes by number...
- I suppose I'd better change it, though.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

I can't cope with all these compliments. 99% of my life on hootoo consists of people taking the p*ss out of me (and vice versa, naturellement...)
