I think this is done, does anyone have any more comments?

interesting stuff
however, either I missed something or I'm incredibly dumb
what's the bit about scuba divers?
apart from that
I work with Koreans and they drive me potty whenever we take photos they're all doing it.

Pretty much the whole of the western world takes the thumbs up to mean good, or ok - but for scuba divers the gesture means 'lets head to the surface', they use a different hand signal for ok. This confused the heck out of me when I learned to scuba.

Fantastic! I was completely unaware of the rude side to this gesture. I would only say that it seems to me like the US thumb-to-the-nose-with-fingers-outspread-while-blowing-a-raspberry (Bronx Cheer) is somewhat closer in meaning than the middle finger as it is also used to be playfully rude. An observer would say of the former, "oh, he's just razzing that guy," and of the latter, "uh-oh, duck." Really though, I'm only nattering - the entry is about the UK gesture after all and needs no changes.

Ta all
I added another few words to the scuba footnote - I don't want this is in the main text as it is tangential and I don't want it to be the last word of the entry. I realise my feelings on the matter don't have that much sway in these matters though, so if later editors decide that the footnote is not appropriate then I'd rather it was deleted altogether.

Floppy?
I've seen lots of conflicting advice about footnotes recently so I'm just pointing out that I'd rather the comment either stayed in the footnote or is removed altogether. Trying to avoid having to have drawn out discussions about it when it gets to the FP by stating my position first. When the subs/eds have done their tinkering it isn't my entry any more and they may disagree and do something different, and I won't feel like I have to discuss it.

Do I need to do anything more to this? It doesn't fail the profanity filter, I checked.

I removed the link to Famous Belgians, I can't think of anything else to do to it to make it pickable...

I think the words 'flipping the bird' here could use quote marks.
"middle-finger-only gesture known in the United States as flipping the bird."
Apart from that, I think it's good to go!
