I'm not sure of the exact quotation either here, but when Arthur presses that button and the following message appears: "Please do not ever press this button again"!
Classic I also remember the theme-tune for the TV series as it was so distinctive. I think it was "Journey of the Sorcerer" by The Eagles.

Is the radio series version of the tune closer to the original or the TV series version?

Not sure - the first time I heard of HH was the TV series, so it sticks in my mind. I would have been 6 or 7 seven years old!!! I wonder if they'll use that tune for the film when it comes out?

I thought I read that the radio version WAS the original. He was writing it each week as it was aired. Then they adapted it for TV and book versions. I'm pretty sure about this...
At least for the first book. I think after that, it was novels all the way.

Ooops ... never mind. You meant the song. I guess I wasn't reading carefully.

I don't recall Arthur pressing a button on the black ship, but there's a classic bit that goes something like this: "Press a button..." "Which one?" "Pick one!" "They're all black. There's this black button labelled in black on a black background and when you press it this small black light lights up black to let you know you've done it."
I don't have a copy of the Guide at work or I'd give you a more accurate quote.

He presses the button that says not to press it again in his first minutes on the Heart of Gold, right before Marvin leads them to the bridge.

Oh, I remember the bit about the button on the Starship Heart of Gold. I thought we were talking about Disaster Area's black ship.

The quote goes:
"Every time you try to operate one of these weird black controls that are labelled in black on a black background, a little black light lights up black to let you know you've done it. What is this? Some kind of galaxtic hyperhearse?"

I just remembered another really funny concept - The Instantaneous Believers - who go through life believing that everything was just created RIGHT NOW, and all memories are just fake/illusionary! I think it's really funny because it might be the truth!!
In which case I didn't really just type this - it's a false memory - so just ignore it

Which ship 'moves like a ship, steers like a cow'?
It was parked next to the Disaster Area ship
