Thought this might appeal at the moment as his third novel, The Well of Lost Plots, is brought out this week.

Hi, Alison!
These are some of my favourite books at the moment - I've just finished the third one today!
I think it would be worth checking what you want to be the focus of the entry - as it stands, it's called 'Jasper Fforde' but the entry is all about his fictional world.
It might also be worth writing a separate paragraph about each of the books, and one about his website, since the way the site connects in with his fictional world is quite unusual.

Hi, I'm new here and not sure how this all works. I don't know if this will suddenly be seen or whether this will be hidden for ages, but anyway...
I would be interested in updating this article if that's the sort of thing that goes on here. I'm a great fan of the books, I'm a member of the fforum (deliberate double f) about the books and I am going to be one of the editors on the fan newsletter. This article's now rather out of date - a third book is long out, and a fourth is due before long, and another book by Jasper Fforde is going to be published in a year or so. Is it possible for me to work on this new article?

Hi there,
First of all, welcome to h2g2! To answer your first query - your messages can indeed be seen as soon as you post them.
Secondly, I realise that my article is very out of date and incomplete. I wrote it quite a while ago and put it into Peer Review because I wanted it to be in the Edited Guide. However, I then realised that to get in it would have to be changed quite a lot. Partly I couldn't be bothered to do all of the research necessary (especially as I don't actually own the books, I borrowed them, and I would probably need a copy of the third one to do this). Also, I decided that I quite liked my article - the style and everything - the way it was, so I didn't really want to change it.
Basically what I'm saying is: Feel free to write your own entry. I would rather if you started over from scratch (It would probably be easier for you as well.). If you want to use any info or quotes or anything from this entry that I've written you are more than welcome to. Just credit me by putting my U-number (220089) in the box at the bottom when you write it. However, if you'd really like to take my entry and add to it and update it, you may. Just credit me in the same way.
Either way, good luck with the entry. Let me know when you put it into Peer Review and I'll come and comment on it. If you need any more help or anything, or even if you just have any other questions about the website, just let me know. I'm an <./>ACE</.> which stands for Assistant Community Editor and it's our job to help out new researchers and get them settled in. Hope to see you around,
Alison

Thanks for the welcome, and the permission to update your article. Thinking about it, I've decided I'll probably wait until "Something Rotten", the fourth book in the Thursday Next series, is released (on 26th July in Britain).
But (although it will be a while away), when I submit an article, should it be to the update forum or Peer Review?

You'll need to submit it to Peer Review. The update forum is for updating entries that are already in the Edited Guide which mine isn't. Good idea on waiting for the next book. Otherwise you would have to use the update forum to add something in about it!
