I like this idea smiley - ok and wanna volunteer for it (when you start recruiting that is)... but what would happen to CWW?

Great thanks Oberon

I have got a bit distracted and haven't done much about this. But now there are loads of volunteers I better get cracking!

Hello again Abi!

How's this coming along? ('cos I'm nosy)

I've found an entry that would be great to be the first updated one under the new system -> A218404 (The BBC) - It's quite pre-Rupert and doesn't really go into the history of the BBC or any great detail.

Also, have you thought about replacing the WW instead of the CWW, 'cos most of WW's functions are done in PR.

Wildman - I'm not really mad, I've just been in a very bad mood for 40 years!

I've just tripped over this and although I'm pretty new here I'd love to be considered when you get round to sorting out volunteers.smiley - grovel This sounds like just the sort of job I'd like to help with.

I suppose everyone will have a particular favourite article to suggest - mine is 'The Royal Mile, Edinburgh' A126488 as I live about two minutes away from it and this entry is not only incorrect but missing a great deal of information.smiley - cross

Hi guys,

this is my project for the next couple of weeks, along with the summer party.

I will be devoting every afternoon to it, so watch this space. We will need people to start rewriting articles so it will be good to have you on board in any capacity.

As I said above, the article on the royal mile is my pet peeve and I started to rough out an update on it at A1047601 but it seems to be getting out of control! smiley - headhurts
The way things are going this could end up as about 4 articles - an overview of the royal mile, Castlehill/Lawnmarket, High Street, and Canongate/Abbey Strand. And that's without even considering the Castle and the Palace themselves!
I would appreciate it if you could offer some suggestions as to the best way to approach this - I mean I'd be willing to take this on if you think it worthwhile, or perhaps I'd be better just to cut out a lot of detail and trim it down to a shorter article.
I know this is not strictly relevant to this thread, but it did arise from here so I thought I'd just ask for your views.

Thanks,

Hi Wildman

Hmmm

Well you could do a short article and a couple of longer in depth articles. If you feel that each section needs its own article that it is understandable.

But don't panic, because we won't have the Update Review Forum up and running for about a week.

I would certainly be interested in playing some role in this- although I haven't been a scout or sub, I've been around a while and tend to check out PR quite regularly, so I'm sure that's some sort of grounding.

You shouldn't get rid of CWW, why not make a new RF? So, all the h2g2 ones wouldn't have consecutive numbers, but who cares? CWW needs to be made to work, not just got rid of.
