Nice one!

Your style certainly seems to have drawn a lot from the great DNA. Do you think that's fair?

I have read alot of Douglas Adam's books, so I suppose he has been an inspiration. But I write in my own style. I don't think that someone could deliberatly write exactly like Douglas Adams, as much as I'm sure he couldn't write like H.G Wells - because it would be false, and wouldn't work.
I don't think I could write much differently if I tried. But I think that the way I write has taken been influenced by his style. "Standing on the shoulders of Giants", as they say
So to cut a long story short yes I agree with you, but in a completely different way .
However I am always cautious of comparisons with a style of someone like Adams, as it perhaps suggests that it is not my own work, and I have stolen something off someone.
Theres part of me that would say "Great I can write like Douglas Adams!" (which would be very arrogant of me to say, and so wouldn't say it, but you get the idea), and there is another part of me that completely dreads comparisons with him as people will just go "Oh, how boring, another Douglas Adams wanna be - How sad". So I'll just go on as I am and hope that people will like what I write, and are interested in finding out what happens next - because I sure am

P.S. sorry about the verbal diahorea. By the way how would you compare this part to the first one?
Nice one!

I think this episode fits very nicely with the first one. Keep up the good work!
I was simply observing a similarity with DNA's style. I can't quite put my finger on it, though the idea of Terry Horowitz only being able to walk through doors when he is distracted does bear an uncanny resemblance to Arthur Dent learning to fly. This could be said to be plagiarism, but personally I prefer to think of it as a tribute to DNA's manner of writing. The whole series has that feel about it, that is, the feel of a story worthy of being DNA's own. Does that sound overcredited? I don't think so, but I would say to be careful not to get too close to his ideas (as in the example above). I hope I said that all as eloquently as I intended. If not, please don't be too offended. As the Ruler of the Universe would say: "I say what it occurs to me to say. What else do you do?"

I have to honestly say, I have never deliberately lifted anything from the great mans work. With the Terry Horowitz falling through a wall thing, it was just an observation that I have made about life - nothing ever happens quite how you want it when you try too hard. Like when I'm playing snooker or pool, when I am really focusing on potting the first ball, no matter what I do - it wont go in. However if I let myself go with the flow and relax I can pot almost anything. I find this similar to many things in life. I'm a little concerned that you consider this plagarism (Can you plagerise life?). Sorry, I don't mean to get at you, I would rather get this out in the open now.
Anyway, thanks for the comments. I really appreciate your honesty. Maybe I should think about throwing in some Benny Hill, and see what that does to the story .
As Marvin would say : ``Life, loathe it or ignore it, you can't like it.''

Well in that case, what I said above holds. I don't consider it plagiarism really, because you have obviously made a similar observation on life as DNA did. I was just warning to bear in mind that some people deliberately take these sort of links the wrong way, and /might/ consider it plagiarism. I totally agree with your idea about pool, I've experienced the same phenomenon myself!
Besides, the whole story rather revolves around this strange property of Terry's, and I'm rather enjoying it, so do keep it up!
I like to think that I'm honest with everyone; I like to think it makes things simpler in the long run.
Looking forward to next week's ration...
