A Conversation for What makes a good lecturer?

Huffers, compulsive lurker

theres a lecturer I have who speaks in such a bizarre accent that we've made a dictionary of 'her language -> english'

some examples:

Vahria-bles - variables
Eenpoot - input
Wark - work
Least - List
Spleat - Split
Lakecha - Lecture
Weesk - risk
Weave - with
Baat - But
Day - the
Ood - would

It sounds like I'm just being rude, but it really makes it difficult to understand her lectures!

smiley - laughAh yes, we have a few of those!

Problem is, what could be done about them, other than sacking them? smiley - erm
Would our fees stretch to giving them a few basic elocution lessons, do you think? Nothing too extreme, people are allowed to speak differently, but just enough to make them more understandable as public speakers?
