h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I've been through PR rescuing some good content (I hope!) and putting it into PR, and I've got a couple I'm not sure about.

I don't know anything about the subjects, and the PR threads do see, happy with the entries, but don't actually say if they are close enough to be ready to be put through by someone else.

Would some other Researchers take a look and see if they think the entries can be saved without having an expert do it? I'm happy to put the time in, but no point rescuing something only to find it's beyond me and wasting everyone's time.

The entries are:

A2169191 - How to Play Texas 42
A2697474 - Honda's VTEC engines

I'll carry on looking, and will post here again if there are any others I'm not sure about.

A1155728 - How to smell a Ponderosa Pine

Eco Worrier: I can only give support in a negative way - like you, no expertise.

- Honda's VTEC Engine: It all sounds reasonable - but can't comment technically.

- Ponderosa Pine: I've never knowingly under-stood one, or even seen one.

- Texas 42: All my enemies died young and I no longer have enough friends.

To my inexperienced eye, they all look worthwhile - good luck with them.

Oh, one thing.

I've read of various forest plants that require brush-fires, but have understood that it was their seeds that need the heat in order to become viable...?

....but the Giant Redwood needs the space.

The Honda VTEC article wouldn't take much to complete. It needs a few tweaks in terms phrases/words used to describe the process's but is otherwise, good, factual and not far off done.

A great idea, I've just completed an update that's been bugging me for a while, and submitted one FM rescue that was sitting on my PS. I'll have a look for more nuggets which won't need much polishing

Feel free to help yourself to one of these if you want them. I've got nine in PR at the moment - although it's possible some of those will come out again - so these would have to wait anyway.
