Excellent Idea for a forum BTW
Don't want to give too much away on this so will keep it brief.
I have to say that this was the best film I saw in 2002. Except for Drew Barrymore (who was the producer so I guess she *bought* a part) the acting was excellent, even Patrick Swayzee.
Although the story was a bit strange, it was gripping.
One recommendation to the uninitiated visit http://www.donniedarko.com/ before watching, it'll help the story.
I think it's kinda funny
I think it's kinda sad
That the dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had.

It's Mad World, not Strange World, but I'll let you off seeing as you're praising up one of my favourites from 2002

I always get that wrong, for some reason I keep thinking strange instead of mad.
Had that pre-ordered on DVD and finally got it a couple of weeks ago. Have watched it a couple of times since. It doesn't lose it with repeated viewing

I'll have to remember to look out for it on video. What kind of genre is it?

Probably Sci FI /Fantasy is the closest this comes to a Genre. It is out on Vid and DVD now. Well worth investing in

Right up my street, then. I'll soon have lots of time for videos, so I'll keep that one in mind.

Had the Scan pics taken of the padawan a couple of weeks ago and I have to say, the ones of it's face looks a bit like Frank

I posted here last night but it must have been around the time my phone line link was lost.
I gushed about the film and asked what the tune was (ABC tune, I think) that was played during the long-shot scene in the school.
Not as eloquent as before, but what the hey

Padawan? Isn't that from Star Wars?
BTW, in writing that message, I came up with the most remarkable typo: 'Star Wares' . I think that might offer an important insight into the franchise...
