I saw this film last night with the Manchester University Japanime Society (newly set up this summer) and it confirmed to me that Hayao Miyazaki is an absolute genius. The story, the script, the colours, the details, were all fantastic. I'm hoping we can see 'My Friend Totoro' sometime soon, and complete the set.

I think camping out is the only way to see the film.
Is there anywhere outside of London where its showing?
I mean, I'm in Brimingham. You'd think I'd be able to find somewhere showing it here wouldn't you?
But can I? No. Oh, the annoyance.

In Manchester, the UCI cinema and the AMC cinema are showing it reasonably often this week.

Seen it now.
And yes, it is beautiful. Probably the most georgous animation I have ever seen. Absolutely perfect in every detail.
