Why all the Losers?

I'd like to have seen a more independent, or perhaps democratic, selection of nominees.
I don't see a thing here I'd like to vote on, and not much I'd like to have seen.
Some of the actor/actress choices are fine performers, but they've all had better material. (And, I find it hard to even acknowledge any list that would include the possibility of honoring eminem.)
