A Conversation for Talking Point: Rent-Free Tropical Paradise

Call me boring

I rather like living in Italy, despite everything, although I'd much rather move to a bigger town than the one I live in. Rome is probably the ideal choice, although I'd really like to move to Bologna, where the people are a lot nicer.

Tropical paradise doesn't do it for me... no telly, no clubs, no bookstores, no drama!

Australia sounds like a nice option, though. Beaches AND metropolitan life. Whoa!

ok, you're boring!

yes, you're right, australia IS rather paradise - fantastic expanses of open spaces, beaches, forests, hills (i despair at calling piddling little 2km peaks 'mountains' after a recent trip to the andes!) and wondrous flora and fauna. oh, and nice people!

but i did rather think rome one of my most 'livable' cities on the same trip. and the cinque terra. and barcelona. and bucelas, near lisbon...

cheers

Italy is all in all quite livable, with the exception of Milan (and it still doesn't get to the level of madness of, say, London). Australia remains a dream destination, in case I become a famous book author and I can move abroad and just send my stuff in...
