I guess I should do any entry on Tippler's Time Machine too?

This is interesting. There's some good content in it. But it's not in line with the guidelines. There are a few references to Douglas Adams's Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. These should be removed. This is not a hhgttg fan-site and you should not assume that the reader has heard of Milliways or God's Phone Number.
I'd like to see this entry expanded a bit. I've heard of Tippler but never knew exactly what his views were.

I agree with Gnomon. Plus, there are lots of terms and phrases that should be defined -- like "anthropic principal".

Read the Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmonds!
This entry could be good with work.
I agree with Gnomon and Mikey on the removal of references.

Just to bump this up for possibly other comments...
I hadn't heard of this, and found it quite interesting .
However I think this Entry could be improved by:
> revised introduction to introduce idea/definition of omega point succinctly.
> re Noosphere "this process of evolution" might read better as "the evolution of consciousness" - since it apparently ends with a universal one (typo: not "conscientiousness")
> a bit more background on Tippler
> and as others have said, reduction in unexplained references you assume others will be familiar with (I got the hh ones, though my memory of Multivac didn't gel with the comparison you made of something residing in hyperspace, and I think I've heard Moore's law expressed, but was unaware it was called Moore's Law.
> if the references are essential it might be woth putting in some links for further information, or footnotes (re string theory etc.)
On a final minor point using the footnote tags rather than an asterisk regarding Tippler's Time Machine would be helpful.

Excellant points! I shall make the changes you remarked on and add a few links. Thanks!
I have been meaning to work on this one anyway...

btw, most multivac stores were on earth. The story "The Last Question" takes multivac into space then into hyperspace.

I suppose I'll have to reread The Last Question. If I actually read it before of course, and didn't just imagine the title was familiar. It's a long time since I read any Asimov short stories.

This sentence doesn't make sense:
"Humanity it’s current “strongest shoot” and planetary, solar, galactic and eventually universal conscientiousness the evolutionary path to the Omega Point."
Even if you intended to say its (belonging to it) rather than it's (it is), the sentence still doesn't mean anything.

Ray, I realize I'm nagging here, but you do have quite a few entries thudding around in the sewers of Peer Review. Have you given any more thought to possibly doing them as a university project, or submitting them to Peer Review 1 or 2 at a time?

It's entries like this that need to be passed on to other people or other parts of the Guide.
It seems a shame to cling to the hope that you'll re-write and polish an entry like this - only to have it sit in limbo until someone double-votes it out.
Admit that you don't have the (a) time, (b) inclination, (c) energy, (d) slightest clue what to do next, (e) etc - and let someone else pick it up and finish it.
Or, move it into one of the Writing Workshops.
Or, pull it out altogether and work on it - then bring it into Peer Review again in the future when it's finally polished and complete.

Click out to the main Peer Review page (use the banner at the top, or the link near the top, of this page).
Your Omega Point entry should be visible in the list of Guide Entries for Review at the bottom.
Next to your entry - on the right - you should see a Remove link.
Click it...

This page should have links to all of your PR entries on it, with little X's next to all of them -- clicking on the X's for any of them will remove that entry from PR.
RF1?entry=0&order=authorname&dir=0?skip=175&show=25
Right now, your name is towards the bottom of this page, so if a bunch of early alphabet names submit to PR today, some of your entries might spill over to the next page. But they'll still all be grouped together on this page, as it's sorted by author name.
