I just realized that this one now has the dubious honor of being the oldest entry in Peer Review, having been here for 21 months....

21? That's half of something that rings a bell!
And 2legs has had as many responses as there are floors of the Empire State Building.
Is this entry ready yet, do you know, Mikey? It seemed OK when I read it, but there have been other suggestions I gather.

I think it's quite close. There are still quite a few typos and spelling errors, and the entry could really use some general tightening up and polishing -- going after some of the remaining repetition and wordiness. It's reached the point where I'd be willing to sub it if a scout picked it, but still at a point where I think it would be quite important to have a sub familiar with the topic area handling it.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted Sep 14, 2004
Ugghhh, yeh..... only* 21 months? I think when its matured for at least 23 months It might have a chance of being there bit busy this week trying to write an essay for my course next week, and preparing some reports for the chairty I do voluenteer work for for friday If I get a chance this week I'll definately have a bash at it again; I was thinking of it only yesterday, if not, then unfortunately it might be a few weeks again before I'm able, as I'm off Sunday for a week for the course, and might be toddling off for a autum break to my Fathers for a week or so, but If I do go over to my Fathers I'll try to remember to take an uptodate version with me on the laptop to try and smartten it up a bit Do I get a prize for it being the logest entry in peer review?

Oh, and probably also worth adding that if possible, I'd like to sub this one when/if it is picked -- I know it pretty thoroughly at this point.

Did you do chemistry at A-levels? I bet you did! And what's worse, you learned to communicate with astronomers, math-teachers etc. but never to a generic blonde of the sixties living in Chelsea. Now don't tell me I didn't get the point of this entry.

Oh how much easier my life would have been if I had indeed done chemistry A level, unfortuantley I did not, I did English Lit, biology and Geogrpahy for three/four month, then after a year in hospital did human biology, sociology and environmental science, and a bit of the History A level (left history cause the lecturer had such an awful grating voice) It'l be tomorrow now I'll hopefully get bakc to this; lodger came home from work early as powercut at work again*, hopefully it'l be back on tomrowow or he'l be on this PC all day

Can't you write this entry like you were a journalist, like I am an ignorant reader of the local rag in Chelsea and by chance I stumble on an article about an illness I've never heard about and I'm glancing over the page and read the captions and have to decide whether or not I'm going to put in the effort of reading it, yes or no, or shall I just skip the page? Why should I read it? Some people can write about uninteresting things in an interesting way, before I realize it I've been reading a whole ragpage about a subject that really didn't interest me at all and still it doesn't but because it was written in a catchy way I've been reading it anyway. So once you're an expert in a certain area of knowledge why communicate it exclusively for the few other experts? So, here is where the generic blonde of the sixties comes in, standing in the street, looking at her destroyed house, decides to buy a newspaper 'cause she needs to look for another flat to live in and skipping the pages she stumbles on 'heehoo look there, what's this article about? 'Systemic lupus erythema ..'???
Well, just a thought, ain't it?

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Congratulations 2legs!
I guess the bold italics agree that this entry has spent enough time in PR. This is going to be an excellent addition to the EG!
Cheers!

And if anybody has been keeping records by any chance, can we have confirmation that this entry has spent longest in PR?

I've managed to finagle my way into being the sub-ed on this one, which should make things easier all the way around.
