This is a very lovely description of the immune system!

1. Shouldn't you explain that bacteria and viruses are strictly pathogens (things that cause disease) - each pathogen contains lots of different antigens.

2. Are you sure that neutrophils really are like bumble bees in that they always start to die after phagocytosis? I didn't know this.

Hi Breakfast lunch and tea.. thanks for commenting on my entry! it's great to get some feedback, however on enteres in PR it's usual to comment by clicking on "peer reivew" in the entry data box and posting to that conversation thread.

To answer your points.

1. Yes I'll put that it.

2. yes I am sure htat neutrophils die, the fact that they do is central to marcrophages presenting their genes in MHC complex...

don't worry! !! it's quiet counter intutative isn't it? especaily where there's writting at the bottom of the entry saying "discuss this entry" I always stay subscribed here just in case!..

ps I've re read my notes and the bit I've got on this in a test book and not only do neutrophil's apoptose after phagocyotsing they also apopotse after about 1 day in the blood if they haven't phagocyotised anything..
