Newcastle Brown Ale
Created | Updated Mar 31, 2002
A potent alcoholic beverage named after the city it is still brewed in today. Oft-feared, it's ability to incur drunkenness
(especially amongst the uninitiated) is legendary. Known to the natives of Newcastle as "Broon", or "Dog" - due to the old
working-class tradition of saying to "The Wife", "I'm just gannin' to take the dog for a walk, pet", whilst actually heading
down the pub for a nice, chilled bottle of Broon.
