Starship troopers is a great book. I love the way that it flowed and the level of character building that Rico goes through. I will try to find Dorsai as well to compare.
Another series that I have enjoyed is Sten. I need to borrow the rest of them from Gw7en to see if the author follows up with something as engaging.

I agree about Starship Troopers, excellent book, to bad they made it into a horrible movie.
I'm interested in the Sten book, what is the name, what is it about, what is the average wing beat of an unladen swallow?

The first book is titled Sten, the rest are escaping me at the moment. The hero grows up on a manufacturing outpost in space. He grows to hate the abuses of those above him and their neglect of humanity. Saying more will ruin the plot however. I am slowly borroing them from G7.

Chris Bunch and Alan Cole were the authors for Sten. It took me a while to find the books as they seem to be a little hard to find, even on amazon.

Starship Troopers is a great book. The Dorsai series is actually called the Childe Cycle and begins with the Chantry Guild, then Tactics of Mistake, followed by Dorsai. I strongly recommend all the Gordon Dixon books to anyone who likes military sci fi
