I have no argument with the main content content of the article, but the last statement regarding carbohydrates being neccessary is quite wrong.
Human beings do not need to eat any carbohydrates. Of course, they can do so, without any detrimental consequences, and can use them as a short term energy source.
The long term use of simple carbohydrates as a fuel source can be clearly seen in the hospitals and graveyards of Britain and America. To imply, without explanation, that carbohydrates of all sorts are essential and neccessary to life is not only factually wrong, it is dangerous in the extreme.
