Was it Ozzie "The Wizard of Oz" Newsome? He's the only offensive player I can think of who played in all three decades good enough to be likely to get that honor ...

Amfoot Trivia Question 0184
FiedlersFizzle Posted Oct 30, 2003
... is this one person, because I can't think of too many people to play at least 21 seasons (as it would have to be), particularly in a position to score TD's...

Well, I can't answer yet so I'll have a little ponder...
20 plus seasons... hmmmm
Amfoot Trivia Question 0184
Blatherskite the Mugwump - Bandwidth Bandit Posted Oct 30, 2003
Why would it have to be 20+ seasons? 1979-1990 = 12 year career.
Continuing on my earlier theme... James Lofton.
Amfoot Trivia Question 0184
JD Posted Oct 30, 2003
Yeah, I was gonna say the same thing about the 20+ seasons miscalculation. Ozzie only had 14 or so seasons.
OK, Warren Moon is my next guess.

I liked them early 90s Redskins, so...
Ernest Byner.
Amfoot Trivia Question 0184
FiedlersFizzle Posted Oct 31, 2003
I think I've mis-read the question...
I read it as the first (and it would be the only) to score the 1st TD 'of' the 70's, 80's and 90's... ie, he scored the first TD of each decade, hence the 21 season career required...
I'm reading it correctly now so I'll pop in with an attempt...
Otis (O.J) Anderson of St. Louis and the NY Giants...
Amfoot Trivia Question 0184
Bright Blue Shorts Posted Oct 31, 2003
A bit late to understand the question *Griese's Groove* (Could there be a naming controversy on the horizon, if he plays badly this w/e?!?)
As Blathers correctly guessed(?) it was James Lofton. Initially drafted by the Packers in 1978, traded to the Raiders in 1987, acquired as a free agent by the Bills in 1989, before playing for the Rams and Philadelphia in 1993.
A point and a to you Blathers. Your q sir?
Amfoot Trivia Question 0184
FiedlersFizzle Posted Oct 31, 2003
Well, latest word is Fiedler's injury is set to keep him out at least another 2-3 weeks, so irrespective of how well Griese plays, he'll be the starter for a while...
If he loses his groove and Fiedlers fizzle returns... well, you know what'll happen
Kind of wierd, Miami has never had a QB controversy before, at least not since 1983, and certainly not since I've been a fan. It's kind of exciting right now... who will start, who won't?
May the best player win out and lead Miami to the SB eh?
