Amfoot Trivia Question 0177
Bright Blue Shorts Posted Oct 18, 2003
Hurrah ... the hints get us there ... indeed the teams had bye weeks on the first week of the season. From 1999-2001 there were 31 NFL teams ensuring that a team had a bye week on the 1st week.
That's a and a point to you JD. Your q sir?

I'm gonna enjoy this and consider how preserverance pays off when guessing. You were right, the answer DID make sense once you thought about the hints properly. I'll have a question for you all tomorrow (or later today, depending on which side of the pond you're on). Still digesting weekend games as well as some baseball and even a bit of World Cup rugby. ARGH sports overload!

That should have been "perseverance" back there, not whatever it is I typed. Got hyper with the r key. I hate missing a typo.

Amfoot Trivia Question 0177
FiedlersFizzle Posted Oct 20, 2003
Miami and New England had a week one bye in 1992 as a result if Hurricane ?... (Andrew perhaps...). The game was scheduled to be played in Miami but a severe hurricane the week leading to the game devastated much of South Florida, making the logistics of staging the event impractical...
Fortunately, the teams were scheduled to both have their bye in week 7 and so the game was re-scheduled for then, meaning both teams were the only ones in the NFL to play 16 straight games in 1992...
This appeared to bother the Pats more as they went 2-14 to Miami's 11-5 Division Championship season....
I'll toodle off now before someone points out yesterdays score...
