May I just take exception to summat ye said in post 19 of this thread though? (Which I came to solely in order to comment on your brilliance )

Geordies are from Newcastle. South of the Tyne they're Makems (purportedly 'cos they say "mak'em" and "tak'em") and people from Northumberland are called Northumbrians. Both Makems and Northumbrians would be highly insulted if you called them Geordies and believe me 'tis not a good idea.
Have you written the guide to etiquette for straight men in gay clubs yet? Wind me up and point me in its direction please.
