There are wee plastic squeeze bulbs that are called nose aspirators that are used to pick baby noses and to clear out congestion. Babies are unable to do this for themselves. Does this qualify as nose-picking?
Did you mean to say that nose-picking is mostly harmless?

Snorting and wiping noses and sucking mucus out of runny noses is an entirely different thing in my qualified opinion. But it might be worth mentioning those to emphasize the difference.
I mentioned boogers and bogies to keep both Americans and Brits happy.

Good Entry! Nice balance of information, irreverence and 'eww' factor.
The only criticism I have is that the "Details follow:" in the introductory paragraph is unnecessary.

Nice entry, well done. Could I suggest including some colloquial slang terms used as mild criticsm or rebuke such as: "Working up ther next week?" or "You'll get stuck like that" or "Unhook!" or "Careful you'll damage your brain".

Gee! Good idea! Do you have a more complete list (or top 10 list) of slang terms (any hints as to if they are used in the UK or in the US)?

Sorry they are the only UK ones that spring to mind. I'm sure there will be others along shortly.

Good entry.
A few suggestions: It would become the entry to loose two or three ",however,"s. Especially one of the two in the paragraph: 'Irritating parents:'
In that paragraph also:
>Children between 7 and 10 years discover that nose-picking can be used to provoke or (preferrably)< -> preferably (?)
>It has been reported that some people have developped tools to aid in nose picking.< -> developed
I'm very certain that there are a lot of grown-up nose-pickers as well. Look at the ones who sit alone in a car...: Boredom?
Wasn't it in Jacques Tati's movie "Traffic" there was a whole sequence with nose-picking car drivers?
I'll try figure out Danish slang for nosepicking and see if it translates well.

Car drivers do that kind of thing a lot. Psycologically, you feel enclosed and private in a car. People think you can't see them.

I tried to look up some euphemisms for nose picking, but this is all I could find. (not as amusing as some of the ones posted above, I fear .

Years ago I remember reading an article that recommended drivers waiting at traffic lights to indulge in a little light nose picking as a means of reducing the stress and raised blood pressure assosciated with trying to out accelerate others waiting for the green light. I've used it ever since as an excuse if I'm caught at it.
