Excellent entry 
"However his family returned to the United Kingdom when he was four buying a farm in Northern Ireland. However for his secondary schooling he was sent to Bedford School where his inherited Northern Irish accent earned him his lifelong nickname 'Paddy'."
Too many 'howevers', I think.
Perhaps you could mention how many seats the Lib Dems held when Ashdown came to power in 1988, and how many they'd gained by the 1997 election. This would be an indicator of Paddy's success as a leader.

OK have done most of it. Need to look up some facts on Jane, Kate and Simon though.

Hi DD,
Superb entry on my favourite party leader.
Two minor points. In the paragraph referring to HK it should be 'ensuring' not 'insuring' unless he was working for Scottish Widows.
Second sentence in the paragraph on Bosnia should start 'Here' not 'Where' as the former makes more sense. Great job.
